Crew Marsh: 23/11/20

My star moment today was seeing the children working in teams to unpick a letter sent from Santa, the children did really well piecing it together in order and using previous knowledge to know the features a letter has.

Average is: 2.8

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We have had a fussy day again today, so I think our target for the week is for Crew Marsh to listen and follow every little instruction given. 👍

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Aaliyah!💕👏

Aaliyah has worked really hard in our math lesson today, and when completing math in fix it time. Well done Aaliyah! You have definitely got smart today…. you are so much more confident now at column subtraction!

Crew Nicholson 23.11.20

We have had a great start to the week and we love starting our Mondays doing P.E with coach Shelley. We continued our dance lessons and today we moved like pieces of fruit! We stretched our bodies up like a banana we stretched sideways like an apple We curled up like a teeny blueberry and bunched up like a bunch of grapes The children did fantastic at remembering all the different actions! We danced to ‘10 fat sausages’, doing big jumps and also a great opportunity to practice our counting

When we came back to class, the children were ever so excited to find a letter from The Gruffalo, that he needs help to make some food and write some invitations for his tea party on Wednesday. We have been busy making some animal headbands practising our cutting skills so we can wear them on Wednesday! Watch this space…

The children have been learning through play in the home corner today, pretending to cook some eggs and pasta. I had lots of yummy cups of teas made for me and we even pretended to make hot chocolates with marshmallows and cream If only they were real The children played lovely, turn taking and having lovely conversations

Today we have been reflecting on what standard we are on and the children worked hard to think if they had needed any reminders throughout the day. We had some children on Green standard, some on Gold standard and some on orange, but discussed how we can improve this well done everyone.

A lovely start to the week! We must have been busy because we blinked and it was gone! 👀

Highlight of the day

Today I have been so pleased to see the children’s work becoming more beautiful! 😍 We have tried really hard over the last few weeks to improve our presentation and the crews hard work is starting to show. Keep it up crew!

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was an amazing 3.4 😃

This just shows what we can do when our whole crew pulls together and how important 100% attendance is for your crew!

Today our HOWL heroes were

🌟 Work hard – Lilia for a great return to school

🌟 Get smart – Talia for extending her learning without having to ask an adult. Above and beyond expected standard!

🌟 Be kind – Preston for lovely partner work within crew

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 23/11/2020

We have had a superb first day back in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

We have been continuing with our dance lessons in PE with Coach Shelley, and today we learned the beginning of a new routine to a Christmas song. We felt really festive by the end of the session, and loved cracking out our new moves!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This Howl goes to Finlay for working independently and producing some fantastic work, well done Finn!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Debbie-Mae for showing us consistent green standard in everything she does, great job Debbie-Mae!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Tia for being our superstar classroom organiser, as well as being kind to her teachers by coming in to school with a beaming smile this morning! Well done Tia!

Howl Average:

We ended our first day back on a 3.6 – lots of fabulous four scores from children showing the green standard consistently, lets aim for a full house of four tomorrow!

Crew Shields – 23/11/20

In computing today, it has really challenged our resilience because we had to solve a debugging problem. We had to work together as a mini crew to find the solution. When we solved it, we were able to play a quick game. Crew Shields are really enjoying our computing curriculum and some are discovering they are quite talented at this.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.7

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure that they are not chatting when they should be listening.

Our Work Hard hero today is IJ!

Today, IJ has been working on his independence and trying to complete tasks with minimal adult support.

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 23.11.20

In crew today we have looked at our finished brochure design! The children are blown away with how professional it looks and cannot wait to have their own copy! We have discussed that this is something to cherish for a lifetime and that they should be proud of themselves at what they have produced! Head over to parent pay to buy crew McLoughlin’s brochure now! 😀

Crew Gerrard (23/11/20)

Hi everyone,

Today, we’ve had a solid start to the week. We have worked really well in pairs and I am really impressed with the support we have given to each other. You guys have shown what it means to be Crew! It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:

Working hard: Jolie 🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Hassan 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Sapphire 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.0!

I want at least 3.2 tomorrow for our HoWL score, so let’s see if we can beat it! 😆

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 23.11.20

Manic Monday! After a whirlwind of a weekend catching up with teachers, doing planning, updating the blog and preparing for more live teaching this week I honestly can’t believe that it’s Monday already! At least I am one day closer to being free and being able to return to school! 😬 Today has been a very busy day in Crew Elmer with flu jabs, learning about Sikhism and answering questions about our text, ‘Pony in the Dark’.

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘Star moment of the day’, has to be seeing Miss Hart’s smiley face back in Crew Elmer today! 😊 I know the children in Crew Elmer have missed Miss Hart as much as Miss Clarke and I have! So welcome back Miss Hart! 🖐 It’s lovely to have you back with us! 💕 Only a few more days and our crew family will be fully reunited! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Another ‘Star moment of the day’ with the children was our Expedition lesson this afternoon. I was impressed during ‘Popcorn’ how much some of the children already knew about Sikhism and how this related to our new question around valuable gifts. The children learnt about how Sikhs serve their community, give to charity and selflessly volunteer to help others. The children created some great quizzes to share the knowledge that they gained from today’s lesson. Watch this space for some photos. Great work Crew Elmer! 🤩✏📝

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

This is possibly one of the lowest scores that Crew Elmer have had for a little while. However, 3.0 is still a good score and as long as we don’t go any lower I’m not disappointed  😊 I do believe that this score is down to a lot of children being honest when completing their HoWLs as well as having 2 children absent. Hopefully we can improve this tomorrow! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.4

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to continue to work hard, get smart and be kind to each other to enable them to achieve 3’s if not 4’s in their HoWLs tomorrow! 👍

Today’s HoWL Hero:

I was fortunate enough to contribute towards the praises that were given to different children this afternoon. I praised Leo for being honest when it came to his HoWL scores this afternoon as he is always very self reflective and truthful when it comes to the scores he gives himself. Miss Clarke further praised Leo’s great attitude and determination in Maths this morning. Leo is often down on himself and finds Maths challenging. However, today he sought help and this worked in his favour and allowed him to have a successful lesson. Therefore for these reasons Leo is Crew Elmers HoWL hero today for working so hard. Excellent work Leo! Well done! 🤩🙌👍👏

Crew Godson Daily Post 23.11.20

Today has been a brilliant learning day down in crew Godson. 🌟

Our Maths learning today was so much fun! We have learnt a new way of adding cubes together using the part/ whole model. It was tricky to start with but we worked “smart” together. 👩‍🎓 The children were amazing at adding all the cubes together and partitioning them back up again. We observed the many ways of making one number. 🔢 Miss Ferguson was so impressed with all the children she gave them a class HOWl hero for getting smart!

Reggie recieved our HOWL hero for working hard today. He finds PE difficult but managed to follow coach Shelley and her amazing dance routines very well.

SJ received out being kind HOWL hero today after going first in the class to have his flu jab. Showing the other children to be brave.

Well done everybody, it’s been a great day.

Crew Kent Blog 23.11.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Kelby 👩

Get smart: Chloe 👩

Be kind: Deacon 🧑

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.2! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.
