Crew Shields – 1/12/20

Our Expedition lesson fit perfectly with the fact we have now entered December, The children had the opportunity to learn about Christingle and even got to make one. They learned the meaning of each part of the Christingle.

Can the children remember what the red ribbon represents?

Can they remember what the orange represents?

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure they are sitting correctly in their seats which will support their writing and presentation.

Today we found it difficult to choose just one child for Howl Hero as there were a few children that have blown us away. Therefore, as a one off we have selected a few.

Our Be Kind hero today is RiRi!

RiRi was awarded Howl Hero because she has been going out of her way to support Mrs Lowe since she returned from shielding. Mrs Lowe has really appreciated RiRi helping to limit the things she comes into contact with. Well done RiRi.

Our Be Smart Hero’s are:

Maddie!

Maddie blew me away to day with her scores in the arithmetic test. It was evident she has taken onboard the strategies we have been learning to help us work out the questions. Well done Maddie.

Alicia

Alicia has been working really hard in Maths and this showed in her arithmetic scores today. I am so impressed with her determination to learn. Well done Alicia.

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 1/12/2020

What a wonderful day we have had in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day:

Today we had a special visitor into school – Reverend Paul- who taught us all about Christianity. The Crew were so interested in what Rev Paul had to say and asked some fantastic questions about God, Jesus, Christianity, Christmas…… and coronavirus😂

We also had another visitor in the classroom today – our naughty elves! The children loved writing about him in our morning task, shoutout to Jake for his brilliant sentence – The elf is cheeky and naughty! Well done!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Debbie Mae for blowing us away with her independent sentence for instructional writing, well done!

Get Smart: Stevie and Toby for collaborating when they were stuck, working together to find the answer, well done!

Be Kind: I couldn’t pick just one hero for this one today so it goes to the whole class for being kind to our visitor and also to our teachers today by listening carefully to instructions, well done everyone!

Howl Average:

3.5 today, we are staying strong with a high score and will be able to maintain or get even higher by the end of the week.

Crew Gerrard (01/12/20)

Hi everyone,

We’ve had another great day in Crew Gerrard, where we have been working hard, during our first day of assessments. I have seen so much effort from everyone. The children have also enjoyed seeing and critiquing their own product that they will be making, as part of their expedition – more on this soon! It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:

Working hard: Amelia 🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Evie 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Alicia 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 2.9!

Let’s keep showing the same determination tomorrow! 😆

Crew Marsh: 01/12/20

My star moment today is watching the children dancing in PE! It was great to see them express themselves and show me their rhythm. 🎶😊🙌

Average is: 3.5! 🙌✨

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Again, I want the children to continue to make sure they are listening to every single step I am giving and following the instructions.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is TommyE!😁

Tommy you have blown me away with how smart you have gotten today! Well done, keep it up!

Our work hard hero today is Mark! 😎👏

Mark, you have really impressed me with how you have applied yourself to all of your learning! Well done!

Crew Kent Daily Blog 1.12.20

Today in crew we have really impressed Miss Ferguson with our resilience and attitudes towards our learning. We started our day by completing several laps of the Muga Pitch on our quest to reach the North Pole before Christmas. We worked as a crew to complete 41 laps towards our total. We have worked as a crew to decorate our classroom and create a Christmassy atmosphere to work in until Christmas.

Today our HOWL average was: 3.6! Amazing everyone!

Today we have decided as a crew that we should all receive HOWL hero’s for “working hard” “getting smart” and “being kind”.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 30.11.20

Magic Monday! 🤩 Today has been a FAB day in Crew Elmer and just what we all needed to kick start the week off! Even if the first hour was a little shaky due to staff absence and a change of routine!

Star moment of the day:

This has to be our ‘Expedition’ lesson today! I was blown away with the children’s enthusiasm to learn about Sikhism and in particular the Langar and how a valuable gift is offered to all. The children had a good understanding of equality, the processes that operate in the Langar and also the importance of why Gurdwara’s have one. The children also enjoyed tasting some chapattis and mango chutney! 😋

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

A great start to the week! Well done Crew Elmer! 👍🙌👏⭐🤩 Let’s see if we can get above the 3.0 score tomorrow! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Elmer need to make sure that they stick to tomorrows new line order and that they walk through school quietly, smartly and kindly. This will help to boost some of those HoWL scores I’m sure! 😊

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today after listening to lots of praises, including one from Miss Hart, I had the hard decision of choosing just one special child for our HoWL Hero today! Today’s HoWL Hero went to Lily-Beth for being ‘super smart’! In our Expedition lesson today Lily-Beth really impressed me with the knowledge that she had absorbed through images, video clips and factual information. She was then able to use this to produce a fantastic image and detailed description all about the Langar that is found in Gurdwara’s. Honestly, if you want to find out any facts about Sikhs, Gurdwara’s or Langar’s then ask this young lady because she sure does know it all! See below for a picture of Lily-Beth’s beautiful work! 💕✏📝📒

Crew Nicholson 30.11.20

What a busy day we have had in nursery. We were full of beans this morning so it was perfect to go straight into PE and burn off some energy 🔥 We had lots of fun pretending to be different jungle animals, moving our bodies in lots of different ways. We were tall giraffes 🦒 , slithering snakes 🐍 , big elephants 🐘cheeky monkeys 🐒 and rhinos 🦏. We danced to some Christmas music too which really got us feeling festive 🎄

We are going to be reading the story ‘Stickman’ by Julia Donaldson. Today we watched the short film of the story which we really enjoyed. We will read the book this week and will be doing some work around the story.

The most exciting part of the day was starting to record our Christmas advent calendar of songs. The children did absolutely amazing and we only needed to do 2 takes of recording 😂🙌🏼 We can’t wait for you to see the first song tomorrow 🙊🎄
