Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 07/12/2020

We have had a great first day back in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

Highlight of the day has been our PE lesson with Coach Shelley. We learned a new dance to a Christmas song and got to show off our fabulous freestyle moves at the end!

I also want to shout out the whole Crew for their great effort in Write Stuff this morning, we have produced our most beautiful work to date, well done!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Keira-Leigh for her great self-assessment today. Keira-Leigh knew her sentence wasn’t the best work she had done so she corrected it all by herself, well done!

Get Smart: This goes to Daisy for her amazing knowledge of the Nativity Story. Daisy could tell the whole class exactly what happened when the Angel visited Mary, well done!

Be Kind: This goes to Bobby-J for sharing his resources in our expedition lesson this afternoon. He waited patiently for his turn and was the first person to offer help to others, well done!

Howl Average:

We are currently at a 3.45, if we keep going like this all week we will definitely be earning a spin on the reward wheel!

Crew Shields – 7/12/20

The children have enjoyed Maths today because they were learning how to divide by 2. They were able to use equipment and their prior knowledge to help them solve problems.

This afternoon the children were amazed at the skill it takes to design and make a stained glass window. They were extremely impressed with some of the designs.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure that we are continuing to work on our independence.

Our Working hard hero today is Loghan!

Loghan has had a really good day. Despite being off poorly last week, Loghan has really settled and completed everything he needed to do.

Crew Kent Daily Post 07.12.20

Today in crew Maths we have looked at dividing by 10. We used base ten equipment and money to support our learning.

In our Writing today we began to plan our Independent write. We have looked closely at the story “Holes” and how the main character was feeling. We have “chotted” down our ideas ready to stat writing tomorrow.

We then began to plan our final expedition piece using our knowledge on “making a stand”.

Our HOWL average today was 3.7! Keep up the good work x

Monday ✔

Highlight of the day:

Wow what a super day we have had today! We have worked so hard as a crew today, especially in writing when we only had 1 adult to help us. Despite this, we all wrote an amazing sentence and came up with some fantastic ideas. I’m so proud of all of you today Crew Welburn 😆😆

Work hard: Harriet 👏

Get smart: Nathan 👏

Be kind: Harrylee 👏

Our HOWL average was 3.5 today. What an amazing score Crew Welburn! 😊

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 03.12.20

Thrilling Thursday! Today the children all felt a great relief after completing their final test today! 🤗 Well done Crew Elmer for working incredibly hard and getting through all of the tests this week! 👏

Star moment of the day:

Today’s star moment of the day had to be our ‘Expedition’ lesson. I was super impressed that the majority of children could remember our key question and could also talk through the journey that we have been on so far to get to this moment. The children’s knowledge of Christianity and the Christmas story in today’s lesson also stood out. In addition, as part of some of the work that the children completed this week on Sikhism, the children enjoyed completing a Bollywood style dance today! Watch this space for the final video! 🎬📽📼

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

We haven’t quite matched this week’s HoWL target…however this is an improvement on yesterday and this week, with 3.0 being the highest score that we have achieved. This is ‘expected’ standard so I am happy with this 😊 Well done Crew Elmer! Hopefully we can improve this a tad more next week and hopefully get that spin on the wheel! It’s been a while since we ‘cream pied’ anyone! 😂

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this next week?

Crew Elmer need to ensure that all crew members demonstrate a positive attitude towards their learning at all times, and on top of that ensure that they are being kind to not only themselves but also classroom equipment.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL hero went to Ray! This was incredibly well-deserved! 🙌 Today was Ray’s first day back this week and as soon as he entered the door (after being greeted with a HUGE smile by everyone 🤩) he was bombarded with test after test 📝 but he took this in his stride and sailed through each and every test! As a crew we all admired this and praised how hard he had worked. Just one more test left for Monday Ray! That is if Buddy the Elf hasn’t ripped it up! 😂

Additional Work:

The children have been provided with a number of resources to complete at home tomorrow including some reading, punctuation work and a sheet to develop their arithmetic skills. Please support children with completing these as required and return to school on Monday. If you have any queries then please send me a Dojo message.

Have a lovely long weekend! 🎄🎉😁📒✏

Crew Boswell – 03.12.20

Good evening,

Day 3.  Our toy of the past today is Monopoly.

Did you know that the longest game of Monopoly ever recorded lasted for 70 days?  Can you imagine the cheating that took place during that game?  And the arguing?  Or is that just my games…

This morning we enjoyed our experience of Bollywood dancing and will be looking to practise this some more over the coming weeks.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.5

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

I wonder if…

I wonder if any parents are brave enough to challenge their children at the multiplication checks.  Breakfast in bed for the winner perhaps?

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind HoWL Hero today is Tyler!

Tyler is always kind and always sets the example when it comes to looking after each other but today he has outdone himself.  During a piece of drama, he recognised that one of his crew mates was struggling a little and stepped in to help without a word from anyone else.  We could all use a friend like Tyler!

Crew Kent Daily Blog 3.12.20

Good evening everyone.

Today the children have completed this weeks assessments in style! They have been amazing this week and have worked so hard. They have shown real resilience and work ethic. I am immensely proud of each of them! 🌟😁

Today the children let off some steam during their PE session by playing bench ball. It was very entertaining and gripping to watch. 🏐 Dare I say it “better than football” 🙊 They had to ensure they worked as a crew to pass the ball 3 times before trying to score. This seemed harder than it sounds at times. 🧠 The children had to communicate between each other and work as a team. 🤾‍♂️🤾‍♀️

We finished off the day by practicing out times tables during our IT session. We logged on to timetables.co.uk and in pairs worked through the challenges. It was such a fun and easy website to navigate all the children were excited to learn. 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

Have a lovely long weekend Crew Kent. You have worked your socks off this week. 🧦 See you Monday. Miss Ferguson x

Crew Longley – 03.12.2020

A busy end to a busy week. We had a rather messy visit from the elf, completed our assessments, ran to the North Pole and began writing our independent version of the story.

Today’s HoWL average 3.2 👌

Our Weekly HoWL average is: 3.2 💚

Our HoWL target is: 3

How can we develop Think about creating a picture in the readers head when we write next week.

Our Hero today was EVERYONE. We have been so proud of everyone’s effort that it was just too hard to choose one person. Well done!

Golden Handwriting Ticket

Our lucky hand writer was Ruby. Well done!

Homework.

This week 50% of our crew read all week and completed their homework. These lucky crew mates had a lucky dip today.
