We are Geographers

This week we have worked hard on our map skills using atlases. We have learnt where we live in the world, where Afghanistan is and what the countries around it are. Today we have looked at Kabul in a lot more detail to find out what it looks like there and what human and physical features there are.

Yellow Team 1 Sports Day! (29/6/21) 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💪

Today, Yellow Team 1 Crew managed to have a really fun day. We completed lots of different challenging, but exciting competitions, from standing long jump to the javelin. I think we all really enjoyed the javelin the most, as we took many goes at this. We managed to come second with Crew Yellow 🌞🌞 overall. We were really pleased! Here are some photos from our first sports day in a long time! A massive shout out to the Year 6s for helping explain the activities so well!

We had a great day and can’t wait to compete again! 😆

Crew Marsh: expedition learning

Wow! What a busy week we have had in Crew Marsh, not only has our crew grown in size, we have also moved crew bases!! However, the new challenges we faced we conquered head first and sitting here typing this blog, I feel like we have achieved so much this week.

I have been so impressed with Crew Marsh’s expedition learning – we have learnt about the importance of a balanced and varied diet. This included looking at the different food groups and seeing what the advice is for how much fish, fruit and veg. We then applied this knowledge to designing pack lunches in groups, which needed to be balanced and varied and creating colourful posters telling people why we should eat a balanced and varied diet and the benefits of this.

Crew Marsh: 7/5/21

We have had a very busy week this week in Crew Marsh, especially to say it has been a 4 day week! We have enjoyed math day today, outside we took part in an treasure hunt activity. This meant in smaller crews we had to work out answers to written problem sums and then find the corresponding answer somewhere on the playground. On the answer sheet there was QR code which we scanned to get a letter… at the end all of the letters created a word.
